Mershie Skitterhorn is often considered one of the luckiest goblins alive, not because he lives in great fortune, but because he is very fortunate to still be living. He grew up fascinated with the world outside of the goblin village, taking particular interest in the dwellings of animals that don't enjoy company so much as they enjoy a snack. Mershie is just adept enough at rune-making and just fast enough that he has miraculously avoided serious injury or death resulting from his excursions. Mershie’s exploration has dwindled since his appointment to the elder council, but he still makes a point to sneak off every so often to further tempt fate.
As an elder he now gives advice and direction to the younger generation of goblins, steering goblin-kind in a more explorative, and often unfortunate, direction. Although his advice often proves fatal, goblins often turn to Mershie in favor of a more relaxed guide. Some of the wiser members of the council will try to dissuade goblins from listening to Mershie alone.
Mershie lives in an independent dwelling, with no discernable family. His work on the council ensures he knows and befriends many of the younger goblins, who come to visit him every so often.
